Christian Carlson & Christie Scheele: August 2023
For July, Museo welcomed Christian Carlson and, in her first show at Museo, Christie Scheele. Christian is a painter from Skagit Valley and the co-owner of Perry & Carlson Gallery in Mt. Vernon, which is also one of our favorite galleries. Christie lives and works in upstate New York and is an artist that we had followed for years before we happened to meet her, by chance, on our travels. We were amazed how her landscapes felt very local even though they are miles away. Each artist approaches their depiction of the natural world in a different way, but both capture beauty in stillness.
Laura Hamje, Laura Viola Preciado, and Sara Owens: June 2023
In June, Museo ushers in a new season by welcoming fresh perspectives and new introductions.
The June exhibit showcases three distinctive women artists whose work is defining strength in different ways: Laura Viola Preciado, Sara Owens and Laura Hamje.
We are also delighted to introduce to the gallery the bright animal paintings of local artist Laura Hudson and the bold ceramics of Peter Gross.

Bruce Hale, Becky Street & David Traylor: November 2022
This November Museo is proud to present the unique and (we've been waiting to use this word) iconographic paintings of Bruce Hale and the delightful ceramic and monoprint collaborations of Becky Street and David Traylor.
Bruce Hale's sophisticated and colorful work has been described as "joyful, holding many moments of discovery". We couldn't agree more.
This body of work is the product of a year-long collaboration between printmaker Becky Street and ceramicist David Traylor. Both artists' enduring interest in form and shape are evident in this seamless and unique collaboration.
Quincy Anderson, Maxine Martell and Inge Roberts: October 2022
This October Museo is proud to present three distinguished and well-respected Whidbey Island artists who have made their mark in the world of art.
This month Quincy Anderson presents her meditative nature based paintings. In her richly textured and layered canvases, Quincy explores movement and light, patterns of reflections and shadows, and the rhythms of water.
Museo is honored to present the work of award winning artists Maxine Martell. Maxine calls her work “visual poems”. This particular lyrical body of work, of empty garments, tells of the people who may have or may still inhabit the garments and of our place in the world. The work is sensual, soulful, and, of course exquisite
Inge Roberts’ delicate porcelain pieces are imbued with history. In symbols gathered from her travels; the patterns, the objects, and the architecture, tell an ancient yet contemporary story that is told with gratitude and respect, and a bit of a wicked sense of humor.
Zue Stevenson, Sandi Bransford, Evelyn Woods and Trisha Gilmore September 2022
In September Museo welcomes Portland artist Zue Stevenson. Ethereal, atmospheric and contemplative, Zue’s pieces for this show are about more than just the women and flowers portrayed in the beautiful paintings.
Reminiscent and hopeful, Sandi Bransford ceramic pieces tell a story of our human connection with nature as well as ourselves.
Evelyn Woods’ beautifully complex paintings of birds remind us of the interconnectivity of the natural world.
Trisha Gilmore’s mixed media floral pieces are a joyous expression of the energy of painting.
Pete Jordan, Don Fels and Brian O'Neill: August 2022
In August, please join us for our show featuring Whidbey Island landscape painter Pete Jordan, pigmented plaster on poplar panel by Don Fels, and ceramic vessels by Brian O’Neill.

Kathe Fraga and Nino Yuniardi: June 2022
In June, Museo is pairing two talented artists with distinct styles, both
of whom share a love of color and texture, and who both create
joyful works.
Kathe Fraga’s narrative paintings are inspired by the romance of vintage Chinoiserie, layered with pattern, botanicals, color and hidden motifs.
Nino’s love of food and curiosity in visual language lead him to a study of color, texture, and forms inspired by food.
Elizabeth Bruno, Suzanne Head, Raili Janese and Susan Mattson: May 2022
This month Museo presents four women who explore the natural world in bright colors and engaging forms. The tone is light, the mood is fanciful and the artists are exceptional
The Garden Show: April 2022
It's Spring.
Once again time for growth, renewal, and in our trying times, compassion and hope. In other words, time for Museo’s annual Garden Show. This month we've invited a group of amazing artists to share their vision of what can grow from the seeds of creativity.
Christian Carlson and Meg Holgate: March 2022
This month Museo presents a stunning show of work by Skagit artists Christian Carlson
and Meg Holgate.
Both painters use landscape as as a staring point for their explorations. Meg describes her natural landscapes as moments of meditation, while Christian's recent paintings strives to depict the beauty and energy of the environment in which he lives.
Museo also welcomes Shannon Borg with selection of her new work.
